This 60+ Y.O. W.A.S.P. Registered Republican from Pennsylvania* believes that the President ( and for that matter his Party generally in these Elections ) should be reelected next Tuesday ultimately because I like the way he talks through his reasoning and decision(s) as though you were long time friends .
A few comments :
1. Americans have an implied moral obligation to vote .2. When you have the nearest person that you are likely to find to Josiah Edward "Jed" Bartlet in the White House , you keep him there for as long as possible .
3. Teabaggers and the like may think that Bullshit Baffles Brains , F**** Science and Rules the World . Well , I have news for you; a.) It doesn't and b.) half truths and distortions always come back to bite you .
4. Saying "NO" to everything does not work as a long term strategy , it is referred to as being "Obstructionist" .
5. Where and when do you , Dear Visitor , PLAN TO VOTE ON TUESDAY ? ( Assuming that you have not already voted . Please DO NOT follow the English system of voting early and often ! )
* The other half is Australian . Australia is the country I mostly live in , it has a AAA Credit Rating with a positive outlook from all three Credit Rating Agencies and over half of the World's highest Credit Rated Banks . ( The banking system has been strongly regulated for years ** . ) A 5.something % Unemployment Rate . Australia has had universal health care for decades and the country has not gone broke . It also has a much better Federal system of running elections than the U.S.A. , so good that the United Nations has called on Australia to conduct elections in several countries .
** ( Australia , 5 November ) Ratings agency Standard and Poor's says it will appeal against a landmark ruling which will allow 13 local councils to recoup losses they suffered during the 2008 financial crisis. .... The ruling follows another in September against the now collapsed Lehman Brothers . Reasonable financial regulation does work , teabaggers !
I understand that Australian donations to Sandra related charities are now tax deductible , but I would be inclined to check with the charity to confirm this information .
