As I see it , this is not a political debate , it never was . It is science , it is nature . Most people do not understand these things and many of those who do can not communicate their knowledge . This is a failure of educational systems to teach the basics of the Scientific Method :

The method applies in most situations , the military mind calls this making an appreciation , the philosopher looks at logic . In the supermarket , I end up with dinner , etc. . Spin doctors hate these things , the public should not think , it is to listen .

When money is involved , as in this case with climate change , logic goes . In the U.S. , it is the oil industry , in Australia , it is the coal industry , etc. that is doing most of the spinning .

Anyway , do your own research and if you see my point , take action , use your telephone and computer .

Geekversity !

I went to a Geekversity seminar today - it was about internet marketing and it was great! They started off with a really creative video presentation and continued with some incredibly useful and practical information - can't wait to apply it!
There's another one coming up in October, which you should definitely try to get into (I'm thinking of going again). Today, we began to learn about affiliate marketing and how to leverage various social media communication channels, and there's more great topics planned for tomorrow's agenda. Our homework assignment even has the potential to generate real money too!

WordPerfect Helpline
This is a true story from the WordPerfect helpline. Needless to say the help desk employee was fired: however, he/she is currently suing the WordPerfect organization for "Termination without Cause."
Actual dialog of a former WordPerfect Customer Support Employee: "Ridge Hall computer assistant; may I help you?" "Yes, well, I'm having trouble with WordPerfect." "What sort of trouble?" "Well, I was just typing along, and all of a sudden the words went away." "Went away?" "They disappeared.""Hmm. So what does your screen look like now?" "Nothing." "Nothing?" "It's blank; it won't accept anything when I type." "Are you still in WordPerfect, or did you get out?" "How do Itell?" "Can you see the c:prompt on the screen?" "What's a sea-prompt?" "Never mind. Can you move the cursor around on the screen?" "There isn't any cursor: I told you, it won't accept anything I type." "Does your monitor have a power indicator?" "What's a monitor?" "It's the thing with the screen on it that looks like a TV. Does it have a little light that tells you when it's on?" "I don't know." "Well, then look on the back of the monitor and find where the power cord goes into it. Can you see that?" "Yes, I think so." "Great! Follow the cord to the plug, and tell me if it'splugged into the wall. "Yes, it is." "Well, allright then, I suppose. What do I tell them?" "Tell them you're too stupid to own a computer!"
